Neslingo: Nestlé Turns Language Training into a Global Strategy
With teams in Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil, Nestlé consolidated its language training into a single corporate initiative: the Neslingo program, developed in-house and powered by Lingopass. The contract

The partnership with Lingopass began in April 2024, with an initial allocation of 250 Fluency licenses distributed among Nestlé Business Services LATAM employees in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. The goal was to promote functional fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese for departments such as customer service, finance, and HR.

With the first positive indicators and unsolicited feedback on the program’s professional impact, Nestlé renewed the contract early and upgraded it to 450 licenses, including 200 new participants from its Brazil headquarters and 50 full scholarships for young talent. The program was internally named Neslingo, cementing its cultural identity within the organization.

About Nestlé

Nestlé is the world’s largest food and beverage company. Founded in 1866, it has more than 2,000 brands and operates in 188 countries. In Brazil, it employs 30,000 people and invests heavily in education, diversity, and human development. Initiatives such as Neslingo reinforce its position as a company connected to the future and committed to empowering people through knowledge.

The challenge

Before Neslingo, the company used a training model that offered little engagement and minimal customization. Fixed schedules, a lack of technical content, and the absence of individual support hindered student progress. It was also difficult to demonstrate a return on investment and measure the impact on operations.

With the increase in multilingual interactions, particularly at the NBS LATAM Shared Services Center, language proficiency has become essential to ensuring operationalfluency, process efficiency, and the empowerment of talent on a global scale.

Initial demand

Nestlé was looking for a scalable and responsive solution for employees at different levels of the organization, including analysts, specialists, and operational leaders. The target languages were English, Spanish, and Portuguese as a second language, given the interaction between units in Latin America.

The goals set included:

  • Completion of one level every 6 months
  • Minimum attendance of 10 live classes per month (5 hours)
  • Participation in customized workshops designed specifically for Nestlé
  • Activities completed on gamified trails

The solution

The Fluency plan offered:

  • Customized tracks by level, language, and field of expertise
  • Unlimited live classes with certified bilingual and trilingual teachers
  • Bimonthly workshops with a technical and cultural focus
  • Gamified content, microcourses, and class replays
  • Analytical reports for managers and real-time dashboards

The onboarding process was hybrid, featuring explanatory videos, interactive sessions, and supporting materials. Lingopass’s instructional team works closely with Nestlé’s HR teams to make tactical adjustments, develop engagement plans, and continuously realign career paths.

Analytics and monitoring

The technology behind Neslingo is powered by Lingodash, an exclusive dashboard that offers:

  • Metrics for attendance, progress, and certificate issuance
  • Automated alerts powered by artificial intelligence
  • Executive reports for decision-making
  • Engagement ranking by region, country, and language
  • Satisfaction surveys and NPS broken down by group

With each cycle, the data informs action plans, license reallocation, and internal reactivation campaigns.

Support and follow-up

The Neslingo program features a robust and multifunctional support structure designed for both Nestlé students and managers. The learning journey is closely monitored by a dedicated team focused on continuous improvement, engagement, and addressing any deviations.

For students:

  • Success for Dedicated Students: Each phase of the program is supervised by a specialist advisor, who is responsible for answering students’ questions, providing guidance on their goals, and ensuring a positive experience on the platform.

  • Exclusive Q&A Support: Open, recurring sessions that serve as a direct channel to the teaching team to address issues with platform access and usage, study organization, and language-related questions.

  • Individualized counseling sessions: For students at risk of dropping out, we provide personalized support, including a plan to get back on track, recommendations for courses based on their level, and organizational tips.
  • Goal reminders and low-frequency alerts: Messages are sent to students who use the platform irregularly, reminding them of minimum goals and encouraging them to return with practical suggestions.

  • Monthly workshops (E2E Class): open, topic-based classes focusing on intercultural communication, technical vocabulary, and everyday professional situations. The workshops are opportunities for collaborative learning, where students from different fields share experiences and foster a sense of community.

  • Incentive microcourses: Throughout the program, students who demonstrate the highest level of engagement receive exclusive access to microcourses focused on complementary skills, such as English for interviews, assertive communication, or vocabulary for presentations.

  • Lingopass Ambassadors Program: an initiative to recognize the 10 most engaged students each month, offering: access to personalized micro-courses; digital spotlight cards for internal promotion and on social media; and recognition as leaders in their fields, reinforcing their leadership roles and inspiring other colleagues

For managers:

  • Monthly reports with an action plan by area: reports containing qualitative and quantitative data (platform usage, AoVs, certifications, completed trails, no-shows, and more), accompanied by practical recommendations and comparisons between locations and countries.

  • Quarterly strategy meetings: meetings focused on results and planning for the next phase. This is when structural adjustments are proposed, such as reallocating licenses, relaunching internally, or targeting new audiences.

  • Active, collaborative communication: Lingopass works with the HR team to develop internal campaigns, promotional materials, and communications that encourage the use of the platform and highlight the program’s latest updates and goals.

  • Support for promoting Neslingo: creation of digital materials, banners, emails, and presentations to help Nestlé leaders raise awareness about the importance of language training—a key factor in budget allocation and securing buy-in from new leaders.

This support ecosystem, featuring highly personalized tools and data analytics, ensures that Neslingo is not merely a benefit, but a strategic human development program with measurable impact.
