Please read the terms and conditions of use (“Terms of Use”) below, as these provisions—based on Law 8,078/1990 (Consumer Protection Code), Decree 7,962/2013 ( “E-commerceLaw ”), Law 12,965/2014 (Civil Framework for the Internet), and Law 13,709/2018 (General Personal Data Protection Law—LGPD), establish the rules applicable to the Program.
Empowering Talents is a language learning support program designed for young professionals facing economic and social vulnerability throughout Brazil.
The main objectives of the program are:
a) Make language training for young professionals a priority;
b) Create a sense of urgency and importance to increase the attractiveness and employability of unemployed talent;
c) Generate knowledge about online language learning behaviors and profiles;
d) Prepare in-depth analyses based on data collected from the Lingopass online platform for studies and research;
e) Coordinate with companies, civil society organizations, and government agencies to present and transfer the knowledge generated to key stakeholders in the public and private sectors who are capable of supporting, formulating, and implementing public policies aimed at integrating Brazilians into the international labor market.
The Empowering Talents program was conceived by Lingopass in partnership with a council of organizational leaders who meet monthly to share insights and build connections, with the ultimate goal of positively impacting people and businesses.
Created and led by André Vercelli (CEO of the VCV Criação e Valor Group), the leadership council is intentionally diverse, comprising executives (CEOs, VPs, directors) and entrepreneurs (partners and board members) with varied backgrounds in domestic and international companies of all sizes and across all sectors.
The leadership council is also purposefully engaged, as it supports ideas, people, and businesses, leveraging its connections to give visibility, a voice, and strength to important causes.
The program was designed to broaden horizons and enhance employability for young professionals aged 18 to 29 who are in situations of economic and social vulnerability and have been referred by partner institutions, based on nine predefined criteria: age, location, family income, diversity, English proficiency, educational level, availability, access to the internet and a computer, social engagement, and motivation. All applications received are pre-screened and validated by Lingopass.
Donations may be made by individuals (18 years of age or older) and legal entities.
Recipients of scholarships from the Empowering Talents program will have access to language courses provided by the online learning platform Lingopass (lingopass.meuifesp.com.br), owned by Lingopass, through which students can study according to their own schedules, from wherever they are, using a cell phone, computer, or tablet. To foster greater engagement, Lingopass utilizes modern technologies and teaching methods, including an AI-powered pronunciation lab, social learning, and peer-to-peer learning, creating experiences that can be replicated in other forums and classrooms. All content was created by Lingopass’s faculty and is available entirely online.
The program consists of two phases:
Phase 1 – Acceleration and selection boot camp, with 2 months of Lingopass access
Phase 2 – Full training program, with 10 months of access to Lingopass
To participate in Phase 2, the beneficiary must have obtained, within 60 days of the Phase 1 onboarding date, the certificate of completion for the course offered in this phase, which specifically means: having completed all activities on the platform and having successfully passed the assessment stages (with a minimum score of 6.5 out of 10).
The exact content of the course provided through the scholarship will be as described on the Lingopass/EmpoweringTalents website, as selected by the donor when purchasing the program scholarship.
The process for donating and allocating donated funds will follow the procedure outlined below:
Step 1 — You or your company contributes by purchasing scholarships subsidized by Lingopass.
Step 2 — Lingopass will select the recipients from among the candidates nominated by partner institutions and schools.
Step 3 — Selected candidates will have access to the Lingopass learning platform, with support and monitoring provided by Lingopass and its partner institutions.
Step 4 — Subject to criteria regarding attendance, progress, and performance, participants receive mentoring and job-readiness training.
Monitoring — Donors can monitor the entire process through quarterly reports and financial statements published by Lingopass.
The donation options and corresponding amounts will be as stated on the Lingopass/EmpoweringTalents website, based on the donor’s selection at the time the donation to the program is formalized.
Donors may pay for Empowering Talents scholarships by credit card, in a single payment, or in recurring installments over 12 months, in accordance with the terms and conditions presented on the Lingopass/EmpoweringTalents website, based on the donor’s selection when formalizing the donation to the program.
The donor will have up to 7 calendar days from the date of the donation and the corresponding online payment to exercise their right of withdrawal, with a full refund of any amounts already charged to their credit card.
After a period of 7 days from the date of the donation, the donor may still cancel the donation commitment at any time; however, the donor will not be entitled to a refund of any amounts that may have already been charged to their credit card.
To exercise your right of withdrawal or to cancel future donation commitments made to Lingopass, the donor must contact us via email at [email protected], expressly stating their intention to withdraw or cancel their donation to the Empowering Talents program.
In the event of a request for a refund, Lingopass will request—within 72 business hours—that the respective credit card issuer issue a refund, which will be processed in accordance with the refund policy of the user’s credit card issuer, over which Lingopass has no control, and the user hereby declares that they understand and agree to this.
Empowering Talents participants may be excluded from the program and, as a result, lose their right to access the Lingopass platform in the following cases:
a) if, during the program, the beneficiary has failed to meet the requirements regarding time commitment, deadlines, or other requirements that were previously established by Lingopass as criteria for participation in the program;
b) if the beneficiary, upon completion of the first phase of the program, does not qualify for the second phase;
(c) in the event that the donor fails to pay the donation installments;
d) due to a violation by the beneficiary of any of the rules and conditions of the Empowering Talents program, the terms of use of the Lingopass platform, or the educational course covered by the scholarship awarded to the beneficiary;
e) for committing an illegal act or one that violates current law.
With the exception of scenario “c” above, in all other cases of exclusion from the program, the funds originally allocated to the scholarship recipient will be allocated to another recipient or recipients of the Empowering Talents program.
Selected beneficiaries will be supported throughout their journey with onboarding and check-ins conducted by Lingopass. The program’s performance (attendance, progress, and completion rate) and student satisfaction levels will be detailed in quarterly reports. In addition, financial statements will be published, ensuring full transparency and that the program remains aligned with its objectives.
